Boeing Insitu Leverages Aras Software to Reinvent PLM Strategy
PLM Connections Innovator of the Month Pick for July

We've chosen Boeing Insitu as July's Innovator of the Month, not only for the company's successful implementation of PLM, but also for recognizing that a current PLM initiative was failing and turning it around in a few short months. Boeing Insitu is a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing which designs, develops and manufactures unmanned aircraft systems for commercial, civil and defense applications. The company originally opted for big box PLM software, but after 11 months they realized it wasn't meeting their needs, putting them severely over-budget and almost a year behind schedule.

Deciding to cut their losses, Boeing Insitu switched to Aras for its PLM software needs. The company accomplished the rollout of the new system in less than 60 days and reported a 900 percent increase in improved new part releases after the Aras software was implemented. Recognizing that their PLM needs might change again in the future, Boeing Insitu has decided that Aras will continue to be "the perfect solution because it allows us to quickly and easily change the solution as our processes mature and change."
